KIRKLAND SDA SCHOOL
OUR HISTORY
The early beginnings of a Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist School reach back to 1945, with only one teacher in the an old grange hall, with 11 students that first year. By 1951 enrollment had nearly doubled and the school had two full time teachers.
In 1953, the school began a two-year negotiation process with the Department of Heath, Education and Welfare to secure land for a new school. After working with numerous governmental agencies the school was awarded a building and just over 4 acres. The church constituency immediately went to work on a remodeling project of the building and by the fall of 1957, it was ready for occupancy. The 9th and 10th grades were added at this time and enrollment grew.
In the fall of 1996, Puget Sound Adventist Academy, the high school on our shared campus, opened its doors. Since its opening, PSAA has provided an excellent next academic step for KSDA graduates. Since the beginning, KSDA has continued to grow and better its program. It is well known for its academic standards and the community that surrounds it.
CONSTITUENT CHURCHES
KSDA School is owned and operated by the SDA Church and is part of the largest Protestant educational system in the world. The school is supported by local constituent SDA churches whose members are committed to the mission of providing a quality academic education in a Christian environment to children of the local community.
Affiliated SDA Churches include: Bellevue, Bellevue Spanish, Eastside SDA Fellowship, Kirkland, Renton Spanish and Russian Center.
SCHOOL BOARD
Kirkland SDA exists to provide Christ-centered education for children of the greater Seattle and eastside area. This school is supported through the dedication and ongoing commitment of the churches in the surrounding area.
Along with vital financial support, each of these churches provides individuals that are dedicated to Christian Education to serve as members of the Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist School Board.
